I'm a huge fan of adult coloring books, especially the ones that offer a unique challenge or a new twist, and this book does not disappoint! It is so exciting to sit down with nothing but a big spiral, and a few hours later you have a new masterpiece. It definitely takes a steady hand and good lighting, but the results are well worth the effort. The paper has a smooth finish, so pens glide across it with ease. The pages are nice and thick, so there's no fear of markers or pens bleeding through to the pages behind it. I have used a couple of different types of pens, and I've found that I have the best results with Pigma Micron pens for outlining and a regular black Sharpie for filling in. I have attached a few samples of finished pages so that you can get an idea of what they look like. Pictures are best viewed from a distance, as it can be hard to see close up.
